Portand Oregon the Japanese Garden

Fall is here and I have decided it's time for a new post! My trip to Oregon was filled with a lot of good memories and photos! some garden related some not. Let me know if you want to see the non garden related ones!so here is the Japanese Garden which is right next door to the International Rose Garden.

Some of the bonsai were over 250 years old. Generations of people had taken care of them.

Sometimes words fail you

Shovels and plastic bags...

There is a running joke in my family...if the cops stop someone and in their car there is a shovel and plastic bags...serial killer!... but if there is also a bottle of water and paper towels...Gardener!
I make it a habit to look for plants at construction sites and road sides. Always making sure it really doesn't belong to anyone and I have permission to dig it up. I also have been known to ask for seed heads and ask landscapers if they were throwing that plant away...If I sound like a plant nut so be it! I have no regrets and my garden proves it!
